About the Job
About Us.
Steel Tech USA manufactures cold-formed steel (CFS) wall panels for multifamily, hospitality, student, and senior housing projects. From our Lewisville facility, we design, build, and deliver panelized systems that help builders cut schedules, reduce waste, and build with precision. We're growing and need a Director of Construction to make sure what we build in the plant goes up right on site.

The Role:
You'll own the safety, cost, schedule, and quality of every Steel Tech USA field installation, from preconstruction handoff through closeout. You'll lead our Superintendents, manage subcontractors and installers, and serve as the key link between engineering, production, customers, and executive leadership.

What You'll Do:
  • Own the field safety program and drive a zero-incident culture, with a focus on fall protection, crane/lifting operations, and panel rigging.
  • Manage field budgets, cost forecasting, change orders, and subcontract administration.
  • Build and maintain master and look-ahead schedules, aligning plant production and deliveries with jobsite readiness.
  • Implement Lean Construction and the Last Planner System across field operations.
  • Require consistent use of Procore and Bluebeam on every project.
  • Recruit, develop, and lead Superintendents and field teams.
  • Serve as the primary construction contact for general contractors, developers, and owners.
  • Oversee quality control, punch lists, and closeout, and feed field lessons back to estimating, engineering, and production.

What You Bring:
  • 10+ years of construction experience, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role (Director, Senior PM, General Superintendent, or similar).
  • Track record managing multiple commercial or multifamily projects safely, on budget, and on schedule.
  • Strong knowledge of scheduling, budgeting, contracts, building codes, and OSHA regulations.
  • Hands-on proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam Revu, and scheduling software (MS Project, P6, or similar).
  • Ability to read construction drawings, shop drawings, and specifications.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, comfortable in front of GCs, developers, and owners.

Preferred:
  • Experience with CFS, light gauge, panelized, modular, or prefab construction.
  • Crane, rigging, and lift planning experience.
  • Bachelor's in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • OSHA 30; CHST, CSP, or PMP; Lean Construction or Last Planner training.

What We Offer:
  • Competitive salary.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) with company match.
  • Paid time off and holidays.
  • The chance to shape field operations at a growing company in an innovative corner of construction.
